This week’s challenge is to write a story, limerick or poem on the subject of:
Favourite childhood memories
Last week’s theme was favourite indulgences. Here are a few of yours:
A king who’d committed transgressions
Found indulgences sealed his confessions
Some cash from his courts
Cleared sins of all sorts
While increasing the church’s possessions.
Found indulgences sealed his confessions
Some cash from his courts
Cleared sins of all sorts
While increasing the church’s possessions.
A couple of scones with jam and cream
is my favourite indulgent dream
But it makes me quite fat
and I’m quite worried that,
I’m in danger of bursting a seam.

Pardon me for posting a link dating back to two months before, but this poem sounded the best for me rather to write something new. Hope its ok.

Not yet four, I could feel the elation
That had gripped the entire British nation
Dressed as a page
I took to the stage
At a party for the queen’s coronation

Not much of a memory, I’m afraid (the coronation was a week and a half before my fourth birthday) but I have a photograph (https://keithchanning.files.wordpress.com/2018/10/2007-06-17-14-48-05_0025.jpg)

Wasn’t I just the cutest? My God – that was more than sixty-five years ago!
