Laughing Along With A Limerick

Here’s to a great week! Your new limerick challenge is as follows:

SANTA

Your challenge last week was to write a limerick using the word NICE in it somewhere. Here are your masterpieces:

Keith Edgar Channing:

My mother gave such good advice;
Don’t cause fuss, she said, just be nice.
I tried what she said
Whilst out drinking with Fred;
He filled all my pockets with ice!

Christine Mallband-Brown:

I once had a very nice cat
But she thought she was really a bat
She jumped up and down
And run round and round
But couldn’t fly because she was fat!

Trent’s World:

Sue was a very nice girl
So good she would make you hurl
Just once be mean
Or have your nickers seen
Be human, give it a whirl!

Kim Smyth:

For a girl to be nice
She must pay the price
Be sweet and helpful
And never regretful
With nary a need to think twice!

Lance Greenfield:

There was a young lady from Nice
Who married a Welsh lad called Rhys.
She thought it was strange
When he asked her to change.
Her silk negligee for a little white fleece.

Val Fish:

Is that ‘nice’ as in kind or pretty
Or is it ‘Nice’ as in the French city?
I need to know
Before I go
And try to compose something witty.

Linking People 2003:

Self sacrifice and martyrdom extinction,
Have subtle difference with nice distinction!
Both give pleasure and satisfaction zeal,
With pleasant and attractive appeal,
To next of kins with the fame addiction!

  1. Santa’ll be coming quite soon
At night, by the light of the moon.
    Now kids, don’t be surly
    To bed bright and early
And don’t wake up till afternoon!

Tom was a very naughty boy
Who had a penchant to annoy
    To see who’s nice
    Santa checked thrice
And Tom didn’t get his toy

    OK, boring

    They say Santa’s a spy
    And works for the FBI
    Without any tact
    He knows how you act
    Kind of creepy, oh my!

    One more?

    A flaming party Bob hosted
When Christmas came, they all toasted
    Down the chimney Santa came
To be met by a giant flame
And the poor elf got roasted

A dude named Santa came to town
He turned the kids frowns upside-down
    He told them, “Be nice,
Or I’ll have to think twice,
About who’s chimney I’m coming round!”

  4. The supermarket santa guy
Told the kids that he could fly
    With reindeer and sleigh
    They’d be up and away!
On Christmas night into the sky!

  5. I always thought Santa was phoney,
‘Cos he looked very like Bony Tony.
So, I wrote him a letter,
And what proof could be better,
Than when he brought me My Little Pony?

  6. I’m combining last week and this week. Nice/Santa

Her mother just said to be nice
So Santa won’t fetch you some mice
    She tried to be good
    And lived like she should
But ended with her hair full of lice

  7. Postal strikes will cause great delay
On the run up to Christmas Day
But don’t fear girls and boys
    You’ll still get your toys
    ‘Cos Santa delivers by sleigh!

  8. TanGental says:

Elle Fish, the head trainer for Santa
Taught his reindeer to trot and to canter.
    When asked why she stayed,
    Being so underpaid
Said, ‘They’re dears, with the best line in banter.’
