It doesn’t seem five minutes ago that it was half-term but next week signals the end of another term and a trip overseas. I’m looking forward to a break but with lots of marking still to do and deadlines to meet before then it still seems a long way off. Though, as always, it’ll all come together somehow!
My ‘More Markets For Freelancers‘ market for you this week is ‘The Bridport Prize‘. It’s known as the competition to enter, with a first prize of £5000 going to each of the winners of the short story and poetry competitions and £1000 to the winner of the flash fiction section. There are also prizes awarded to second and third spots, as well as several runners-up prizes.
There’s a lot of prestige associated with winning this competition and it can provide the impetus necessary to launch winners into the limelight, with many going on to have success with novels and other writing. It’s open to all nationalities, aged 16 and over. To find out information concerning rules and other details, go to the website: http://www.bridportprize.org.uk/
