Flash Fiction in the Flashiest of Flashes

A couple of weeks ago, I suggested writing a short story in 60 words, or even 20, to get the creative juices flowing. The Global Short Story Competition is an ongoing competition for short stories of up to 2000 words. But they’ve also launched a free to enter competition for a short story in six words. Yes, six words! Is it really possible to write a short story in six words? To find out more, click on the following link:

Here’s a few to get you started:

  • Eyes shut. She leaps forward. Bungee!
  • Toothless grin. Special telegram. 100th birthday.
  • Boy cries. Gags. Sprouts – so unfair.

I’m sure you can produce far better stories than me so if they’ve sparked an idea, give it a go.
